Stories
Here we share some of the stories of some of our patients, all told with their permission, and which show how the kindness of our donors and partners are helping to improve the care our incredible staff give to those needing our services.
Meet Phil
This is Phil being cared for on our Franklin Ward. Phil worked for the BBC for 23 years working on television dramas and Top of the Pops! He told us that was the best job ever. He is delighted with his British Airways overnight kit sourced and supplied by local charity Serving our Superheroes run by Sarah Owen, an incredibly motivated and dedicated friend to the Trust and the charity. Many of our patients arrive without changes of clothing or toiletries and the charity is often approached by ward managers asking if we can help them source such items as they have no budget to buy them. That’s where we come in and all of you who donate the funds or the goods to meet the need. THANK YOU!

Thank you Project Linus!
Thanks to our wonderful friends at Project Linus and to local supporter Kathy Osbourne for a delivery of these beautiful handmade incubator quilts for our neonatal ward. Each one was made with love and care and the ward staff were overjoyed to receive them. There are so many ways the community can help us bring as mile to our patients, their families and our staff looking after them. You can make a difference too. Contact us to find out where we need your help most urgently.

Support for our Topaz Midwifery Team!
Our good friends working in the estate management office at Stockley Park reached out to us wanting to support one of our teams. We introduced them to our Topaz Team, part of our midwifery care, who look after particularly vulnerable mothers-to-be. Our team want to go beyond the call of duty with those they care for sending back into the community with some basic provisions for baby’s new start in life - Moses baskets, nappies, lotions, toiletries. Stockley Park then teamed up with other local businesses such as the Hyatt Hotel in Hayes to deliver a bumper load of goodies for the midwives to give to those in needs. A HUGE THANK YOU to our friends at Stockley Park and to our Topaz Team for wanting to go the extra mile.

Three cheers for The Vine Pub in Hillingdon!
This is Jake, manager of The Vine Pub in Hillingdon calling in to drop off £1,000 he and his staff raised in just a few days as a Christmas present for our children’s wards. Such was their amazement at the response they got, they are preparing to do it all again this year only to go much bigger and raise funds to buy a piece of equipment for the ward that is newer on the market and which can greatly improve patient care, especially during the winter when we have many young patients with breathing difficulties. They are AMAZING.
